There are certain trends that have claimed pride of place in our wardrobes without the gimmicks of internet-breaking campaigns or showy logos, and subtle timelessness is one such example. But if there’s one garment deserving of such praise, it’s an item that has put a wealth of styles on the fashion map. More than half a century later, the blazer is no longer deemed “radical.” It is, however, the textbook definition of a classic (today’s offerings comprise those of the high street and the luxury segment, in its manifold iterations). It can sometimes feel as though the fashion industry is drowning in micro – or should I say, nano – trends. From billowing trousers and wacky shoes to “bare-backs” (surely one of the most common trends to feature on the Spring 2027 men’s runways), it can be a wild ride at times.

But even against the strong tides of the seasonal trend cycle, there are certain staples that hold steady, and when it comes to our transitional wardrobes, and the blazer is surely one of them. Made in all manner of ways, the blazer has been used in men’s attires for thousands of years and has long been lauded for its breathability, strength and natural elegant qualities.
