Across the runways in Paris, the season leaned into a heightened dialogue between structure and softness as designers revisited ideas of femininity through precision and fluidity. Romantic fabrics such as lace and sheer layers appeared alongside sculpted tailoring and sharply defined silhouettes, while sensual black, saturated colour and glossy materials punctuated the collections with moments of intensity. Houses including Dior, Saint Laurent, McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu and Alaïa articulated a season balancing clarity with emotion, discipline with instinct.

Moving through the streets between venues, these ideas took on a more instinctive rhythm as attendees assembled their own visual language from fragments of the season. Elongated coats moved beside fluid dresses layered under oversized outerwear, precise tailoring met sheer textures and flashes of colour, while boots, sculptural bags, archival references and unexpected material contrasts appeared in motion as people travelled between appointments, presentations and late arrivals. Captured by Ian Kobylanski, Outside the Shows turns its attention to this transitional space where fashion briefly leaves the runway and enters the street, observing the individuals who animate the atmosphere surrounding the shows. Shot across Paris during the closing days of the womenswear calendar in early March, the series reflects a city temporarily transformed into a corridor of silhouettes where ideas introduced on the runway begin their first life in the open air.

This season, the capital’s mood carried equal parts resilience and reinvention. Established houses revisited heritage with renewed focus, emerging voices amplified cultural narratives, and design vocabularies were read through lenses of inclusivity, texture, and urban poise.

In the in-between moments — arriving guests, impromptu clusters at side streets, front-row departures and post-show conversations — London’s style set assembled its own dialect of expression. Classic British tailoring appeared alongside bold colour juxtapositions; sculptural coats and ballet-flat combos shared pavements with purposeful layering, kitsch accoutrements, and subcultural inflections. Rain-ready outerwear, unexpected colour duos and inventive accessories punctuated everyday movement, revealing how personal style reflects and disrupts the season’s formal narratives.

Captured by Ian Kobylanski in the heart of London’s fashion-week flux, Outside the Shows turns its gaze toward the characters who populate these spontaneous spaces — individual storytellers forging distinctive looks from the season’s fragments. Rubber melts memory faster than heat, and in the Melissa-Diesel union, the memory gets rewritten in translucent layers and factory-spun fantasies, where every sole becomes an altar and every arch a design thesis.

The launch breathes with that quiet insistence that only comes from brands long familiar with the performance of excess, the kind of intimacy that happens when a shoe imagines itself both object and spectacle, more monolith than accessory.

The Quantum Thong arrives soft and symmetrical, carrying a shape that recalls diagrams from a manual no one asked to read but everyone wants to own. Pink slides in like bubblegum after midnight, black stands like a nightclub wall you lean against out of rhythm, transparent red and blue offer the promise of temperature shifts that begin at the ankle. Platforms follow, geometric volumes with the attitude of architecture during a full moon and sandals lifted like invitations or warnings.

Sneaker X completes the trinity with the assurance of something bred inside a sealed studio with fluorescent silence and biometric locks, where gender loses its meaning and all that remains is a shell for movement, polished and aerodynamic. Every size appears, every color holds its own name, and nothing left to adjust. The Diesel D expands across each silhouette like a glyph from an urban folklore, a kind of sigil for the new believers of street couture and synthetic spirituality. The D doesn’t explain itself, it rather rotates, stretches, embeds, and accepts the surface as gospel and the foot as oracle.

Shoppers gather through portals coded to feel clean and frictionless, digital altars where Melissa and Diesel light scented fires made of pixelated gradients and mock-sincerity. Stores function as museums that forgot to lock the vitrines. Feet enter without asking and photography follows with no alarms.

The collaboration folds time and flattens the idea of occasion. Morning, evening, somewhere between the club and the convenience store—each moment welcomes a shoe that behaves like sculpture and speaks in capital letters. Melissa carries its decades like an heirloom dipped in gloss, marching through past alliances with architects and provocateurs, never missing a step even when the runway disappears. Diesel, still fluent in the dialect of denim rebellion and factory-born pride, supplies the posture and the push, a language understood without translation.

The launch floats in like it missed the memo but still gets photographed from every angle. Color-coded, algorithm-approved, properly translucent in places where mystery performs best. The calendar says July 15th, the internet stretches and the shelves absorb it. Just plastic shaped like an idea someone once sketched on a napkin at a very loud dinner. Melissa leans in, Diesel flexes. So while the shoes wait, the feet arrive.

In times where society’s downturns are increasingly commonplace, fashion's mission is to exude a profound sense of societal relevance that can create both desire and intent: a purpose to set alight its deep connotation beyond mere conventions.

The Milan shows have proven to stick to a traditional code of conduct: a free of fuss aesthetic, teamed with pared-back, minimalist lines prevail over its British and American counterparts, where everything is blown to the max. The Milan shows, after all, wholly reflect the DNA of century-old traditions, and it's no surprise that the people of the city share that very sentiment. Gucci went back to its roots and archive for Fall 2025, as the house's founder Sabato De Sarno announced his departure earlier in February. This season, the lineup featured a lean towards a new colourway (dark, forest green) and a shift from its red (rosso ancora, as the house used to name it), bringing a newfound sense of femininity and glamour to the apparel.

Now, speaking of Iceberg, the brand seemed to be eschewing all manners of fuss and grounding to a linear approach and take of tailoring: tones are subdued, maxi logos are a far cry from the visual language and the pared-back appeal seems to be winning the race. On similar territory, Fendi celebrated its centenary this Fall with a collection that harked back to Silvia Venturini Fendi's memories and Karl: the collection renewed its affection for the house's classics, bringing forth a slew of timeless pieces that had sleek silhouettes, embellished details and a sinuous touch overall. Jil Sander, Prada, Moschino and Moschino offered levity and a dash of irreverence to the modern woman. Diesel offered tons of playfulness while Etro, D&G's runway had upbeat tempo ('cool girls', strutted both inside and outside the venue), and Vivetta continued its design path.
