Certain things are universally recognised as complementary duos. To name but a few: wine and cheese, for instance, a white T-shirt and cosy denim pieces, or a trench coat and a brolly. When it comes to failsafe midseason style pairings, the same can be said of retro separates and heels – a combination that will see you through a season of post-work drinks, park strolls and garden gatherings.

There are, of course, seemingly endless variations on both. Neutral patterns, breezy cotton skirts and body-sculpting shapes can be found far and wide this season, while in the shoes department, there’s a wealth of iterations, ranging from premium to ready to wear labels. The below outfit formulas prove that a mid-length hemline can be a great method of showing off trending shoes, whatever they may be – and wherever you may choose to wear them.

For easy midsummer style, opt for pointed-toe iterations from Santoni or Valentino – both of which will pair well with staples like a breezy skirt or wear-anywhere gown. Or, for a more pared-back approach, look to rock-studded styles in leather or suede, which are best styled with shirts or gently-volumised outerwear. Ready to embrace a new take on these styles? Scroll on for LE MILE’s edit of the best offerings available now. You’re welcome.

THE SENSITIVE CUT
*Beatriz Pimentel

written CHIDOZIE OBASI

As fictional The Devil Wears Prada journalist Miranda Priestly infamously declared, florals for spring are far from “groundbreaking”. The recent sequel catapulted memes of this quote into the digital realm – and its echo still stands, decades on. But that’s not to say floral prints, in whatever format you choose to embrace them – a dress, a floral skirt, a design statement – should be altogether dismissed.

They’re arguably easier to incorporate into a wardrobe than most loud patterns. Less in your face because you’re not clad head-to-toe in blooms, they can be contrasted with a neutral pairing or can be layered over a dress for a moment at the opera or a chilled one on the beach. A lot lies in the mood, and finding a pattern that steers clear of being too whimsical or ditsy is easy to find – so too, flattering silhouettes that feel contemporary rather than retro. Fabric is another clincher: more rigid materials can lean into curtain territory, while anything too ultra-thin might run the risk of flashing what’s beneath – which is, of course, fine, if it’s done with sheer intent. And if you want to push for further balance? Look no further than LE MILE’s women’s edit of breezy staples, and be ready to become the very embodiment of the season. You’re welcome.

Solférino Paris Fragrances Become Portraits

written LE MILE

A scent begins before it is named. It appears in the angle of a shoulder, in the weight of hair, in the surface of stone, glass and skin. For Solférino Paris, fragrance becomes a portrait language, held between the bottle and the body beside it.

Shot by Timothy Joseph Boué, the series gives each composition its own physical register. Thé au Palais Royal stands in a field of light and restraint. Folies à Montmartre takes warmth from wood. Un Samedi à Paris leans into mineral texture and a sharper gaze. Coup de Foudre Quai Voltaire rests against raw colour, while Minuit Rue Princesse moves through polished reflection and exposed skin. Together, the images trace scent as something intimate and visible. Not an accessory, not an explanation, but a presence that changes the way a figure is read.

The structured shirt has long occupied a reliable place in the fashion canon, usually in white, occasionally in black, and almost always treated as a neutral. But this summer, designers have taken a more experimental approach.

Across the spring/summer 2026 runways, structure came in a spectrum of volumes, from breezy, fuss-free kinds like silks and satin, to unapologetically bold textures of denim, pvc and cotton. A structured and tailored shirt is a statement piece with real wardrobe mileage. Worn casually, it becomes the talking point of your outfit – think, a slouchy one half-tucked in, or a cosy knit thrown on with ease. Feeling a little braver? Lean into contrasting materials by pairing your shirt with body-hugging separates. Whether styled casually or pushed into bolder territory, this season’s iterations are easy to integrate into everyday dressing. Scroll on to peruse LE MILE’S edit of essentials, from minis to maxis, all given playful dashes of cool. You’re welcome.

Despite its high-fashion credentials, a streamlined essential all too often becomes the default for less-than-glamorous activities – walking the dog, taking out the recycling, running to errands – however this season, there are plenty of offerings, plus easy styling tricks, that will ensure you don’t have to choose between form and function.

Of course, there are countless outerwear pairings that prioritise chic – a fuss-free jacket styled with a blazer and skirt is a popular outfit of choice for off-duty models in and out of fashion week – however, at the Fall round of shows, there were also more polished options to be found. So whether you’re digging out an old favourite to give it a new lease of life or looking to invest in a new style in Spring and beyond, timeless classics are investments that you’ll never regret making – especially during a chilly-snap. Scroll down to peruse six ways to style them this season, and get ready to become the very embodiment of Summer in no time. You’re welcome.

In the years following the pandemic, the world of comfort-centric design exploded within the high-fashion market, with everything from wear-anywhere essentials and practical gorpcore jackets to fashionified sportswear reaching the trend spotlight. The premium category was, naturally, not immune to this new brand of cosycore, and we saw snazzy iterations and roomy yet classy silhouettes holding court in the collections of even the most elevated designer brands.

You know when Loro Piana embraces a practical piece (albeit in cashmere) that luxury is starting to look a little different. Yet for those who live by the old school mantra that elegance can always stretch beyond conventions, you’ll be happy to know that polish is making a return to our wardrobe choices for the rest of 2026. Of course, we can’t ignore the continuing ripple effects of quiet luxury on the creative landscape, and Pantone’s tone of 2026, Cloud Dancer, certainly has a subtly snazzy undertone about it. From Valentino to Miu Miu’s slouchy slacks to Celine’s roomy offerings, expect to see an unashamedly level of breeziness over next year. Our top tip? Invest in stain remover. You’re welcome.

Everything feels darker in the winter. Not only do the nights draw in earlier, but the inclination to wear muted tones over vibrant offerings is more prevalent in colder months. As far as separates are concerned, neutral washes tend to dominate this time of year; replacing summer-leaning textures and bright finishes for fabrications in charcoal and black. But it’s not all doom and gloom: a muted palette can look striking against the backdrop of the low sun on a bright fall day, plus they’re more practical for the transitioning periods. Wearing a dark trouser hides any dirt or sogginess that might inevitably gather at the hemlines should you be faced with impromptu downpour or hail—you don’t have to worry about dark pieces as much as lighter shades.

Baggy silhouettes appear especially good when rendered in a sharp hue: key in Tory Burch’s body-hugging volumes, Brioni’s duty-heavy skirts, Max Mara’s wear-anywhere toppers, QuartoAtto’s fuss-free practicality, or Ferragamo’s airy staples. The constant yearn for versatility has made way for several styles, with seams that fit close to the body but feel light to the touch. So whether you invest in a high-street iteration (see Labo.Art, Frau and Gant), a more premium piece (courtesy of Tod’s and McQueen) or choose our preferred option, exploring the many pieces out there, know that timelessness and versatility are two investments that you will not regret making. Just ask the old man on the tube, and head below for LE MILE’s best offerings to master your transitional style. You’re welcome.

WINTER BREATH IN NEW YORK

Winter arrives without ceremony and breath becomes visible, movement slows, and the city begins to speak in smaller gestures. Streets empty, light softens, and New York settles into a different rhythm. A figure moves through this landscape, pausing, observing, carrying the weight of the season in posture. The cold presses close, sharpening senses and drawing attention to details often overlooked, the hush between buildings, the drag of fabric, the sound of wind against concrete.

Nothing insists on being explained, instead, the city holds space for reflection, for quiet persistence, for the intimacy that winter creates. Winter Breath stays with that feeling, letting atmosphere guide the narrative and allowing the season to leave its mark slowly, deliberately, and without urgency.
