TENWAYS CGO 009 Brings Connected Design to the City Bike
The city e-bike has moved into a more precise category. It is no longer enough for it to carry a battery, look streamlined, and promise an easier commute. The object now has to answer more specific urban questions: how it is stored, how it is serviced, how visible its technology should be, and how naturally it fits into daily movement.

With the new CGO 009, TENWAYS places those questions at the centre of its 2026 lineup. Presented during the brand’s Berlin Press Day, the model is positioned as the showpiece of a wider range that also includes the CGO Compact, CGO 600Pro, and CGO 800S. The Amsterdam-based company has built much of its identity around urban mobility, and the CGO 009 extends that direction through a cleaner frame language and a more connected technical setup.
The model’s most relevant feature may be its Smart Connect Module, which integrates GPS tracking and security functions directly into the bike. It gives the CGO 009 a more contemporary role within the city e-bike category, where ownership is increasingly shaped by location data, theft prevention, and daily access.
TENWAYS also equips the CGO 009 with a belt drive, a detail that points to the maintenance question around urban e-bikes. The appeal is practical. Less upkeep means fewer interruptions in a routine built around short distances and repeated use. In a city context, convenience often has less to do with speed and more to do with whether an object keeps working without asking for too much attention.

The boost function gives the CGO 009 its most immediate riding feature. TENWAYS describes it as intuitive, placing the emphasis on quick support rather than a complicated control system. In a city context, that detail matters most during the uneven parts of a ride: pulling away from a crossing, moving through dense traffic, or handling a route that changes between flat streets and small climbs.
The CGO Compact is built around storage and accessibility, the CGO 600Pro around lightweight commuting, and the CGO 800S around step-through comfort. The CGO 009 carries the strongest focus on connectivity, with its Smart Connect Module, GPS tracking, security functions, belt drive, and boost support giving it the role of TENWAYS’ most technology-led city model.
